More information

Pvt Louis E. Andriano entered the service on Sept 4, 1944 in San Francisco, California. He had competed 3 years of high school and was working as a farm hand.

On March 2, the First Battalion passed through the Second Battalion to continue the attack, circling the woods west of Neureuth they attempted to trap the Germans manning the positions. A maze of anti-personnel mines and heavy burp gun and machine gun failed to halt their assault. A Company followed by B and C spearheaded the encircling "arc" that successfully drew the noose around the stubbornly resisting enemy. It was during this day's battles that Pvt Andriano was KIA.
