Pfc James E. Wickline enlisted at Fort Hayes, Ohio on 16 March 1943.

He was a passenger in airplane #42-101073 with destination dropzone T, in the vicinity Groesbeek, the Netherlands. He jumped out of the plane but got lost. Its assumed that his parachute didn't open, considering his wounds, this would be correct.

In February 1946 James body was found in a grave near Groesbeek and his remains were reburied at the American Military Cemetery of Margraten, the Netherlands.
