More information

Pfc Claude M. Moore was employed at the Wilson Manufacture Company before he enlisted in Dallas, Texas on 17 July 1944. He was sent overseas.

The squad leader had written that, many times, Moore had volunteered for extra duty. The night of the accident, he had volunteered to be one of the drivers of a truck convoy, transporting the guard detailed from Kransburg, Germany to duty stations outside the town. It was on the way back that the steering apparatus on Moore’s truck apparently failed as the truck rounded a curve. It turned over twice and Moore died instantly of a broken neck.
