Pfc Luther M. Brizendine enlisted in Roanoke, Virginia on 3 May 1941.

He landed at Omaha Beach on D-Day and was seriously wounded on 11 July 1944. He rejoined his unit on 14 November 1944 and was killed a few days later.

His brother, Pvt Clyde B. Brizendine, is buried next to him.
