Sgt Edward J. Creevy graduated from Swissvale High School and attended college for one year.He joined the Air Corps of the U.S. Army Reserve in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on 25 August 1942.
The airplane was attacked by fighters during the bomb run, setting it on fire. It left formation and the most of the crew bailed out before it crashed.
Five crew members survived and were taken prisoner, five were killed.
