Pfc Floyd R. Edwards was employed at the Joanna Textile Mills Company before he enlisted at Fort Jackson Columbia, South Carolina on 18 March 1942.He died in a hospital to the effects of artillery shell fragments.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
