Sgt Lawrence H. Carmichael was a graduate of Arsenal Technical High School and former employee of the McQuay-Norris Manufacturing Company before he enlisted at Fort Thomas Newport, Kentucky on 10 December 1943.An excerpt from the MACR: "Bombs away 1239 hours Attack at 1240 hours A/C 007 bomb bay on fire plane was shot down by enemy aircraft."
He was first buried at the American War Cemetery Neuville-En-Condroz at Liege, Belgium.
