Pfc Anthony Pina enlisted in Hartford, Connecticut on 14 October 1942.He was him severely wounded in action on 8 July 1944 and transferred to the 34th Evacuation Hospital. For this wound the was awarded the Purple Heart a first time. After recovery he rejoined his unit on 4 Ocotber 1944.
