2nd Lt Robert Mc Kee graduated from Grant High School and attended Oregon State college.He joined the National Guard in Portland, Oregon on 16 September 1940 and was stationed at Maxwell Field, Alabama. He received his wings and second lieutenant's commission at Turner Field, Albany, Georgia in August 1943.
The airplane was shot down by enemy fighters. The entire crew of ten was killed.
The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) announced that 2nd Robert Mc Kee was accounted for on 20 June 2024. Additional information will follow (information added August 2024).
