Pfc Charles Taraskewicz enlisted in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania on 8 October 1942.He was severely wounded in action on 7 July 1944 for which he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal a first time. After recovering he rejoined his unit on 7 October 1944.
