Sgt Richard Morgan graduated from Gloversville High School and was employed at the Gloversville Knitting Company.

He enlisted in Buffalo, New York on 8 May 1942 and was sent in October 1942. He landed on Omaha Beach on D-Day and was reported wounded in action on 13 June, 1944. After recovering in a hospital in England, he rejoined his unit on 14 July 1944.
Early in October 1944 he was promoted to Sergeant.

Sgt Richard Morgan was reported wounded in action on 22 February 1945 when he stepped on a mine. He died of his wounds a day later.

His brother, Pfc Keith Morgan, is buried at Lorraine Cemetery.
