T/Sgt James C. Thomas enlisted in Annapolis, Maryland on 3 February 1941.He landed on Omaha Beach on D-Day and was lightly wounded in action on 13 July 1944. He was promoted to Staff Sergeant on 8 August and to Technical Sergeant on 22 September 1944.
James C. Thomas and his wife Helen were only married 3 months before he was shipped out.
She never saw him again. Helen remarried in 1948 but kept in close touch with James's family.
