More information

Sgt. Daniel Brewer was employed at the Millbury plant of the Hayward-Schuster Woolen Mills before he enlisted in Springfield, Massachusetts on 7 August 1942.

He was reported seriously wounded on 7 June 1944. After recovering, he rejoined his outfit in August 1944.

On 5 or 6 October 1944 a group of soldiers of the 506th PIR were resting in a barn in Opheusden after heavy fighting. One of the soldiers was fooling around with his gun when it suddenly fired. The ball bounced against a concrete wall and wounded Daniel Brewer in his belly. He died shortly thereafter.
