S/Sgt Charles R. Cook graduated from Hartley Township High School and was employed at the Harrison Steel Company.

He enlisted in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on 10 May 1943. He trained at Camp Shelby, Mississippi and was sent overseas in June 1944.
