Arthur Steier was an actor.He joined the infantry of the National Guard in Los Angeles, California, on 3 March 1941 and was honorably discharged on 26 December 1942 to accept an appointment. He was appointed flight officer on 20 December 1942. He was discharged on 2 March 1944 to accept a commission and appointed 2nd Lt on 29 February 1944. He was sent overseas on 23 March 1944.
Lt Steier was probably shot down by flak during an attack on a locomotive.
He was initially buried at the eastern cemetery of Eilenburg on 24 May 1944.
