Pvt Bernard H. Olmstead worked briefly on the farm of his brother-in-law before enlisting in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania on 29 January 1944. He was sent overseas on 12 October 1944.He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Foy, Belgium.
