Pvt Jack J. Beste attended high school for three years and worked in a bakery. In 1940 he lived in the St Marys Home For Boys.He joined the Regular Army in Portland, Oregon on 16 July 1940.
He died of of wounds in Ooijpolder and was initially buried at Molenhoek Cemetery near Nijmegen, the Netherlands on 1 October 1944. He was later transferred to Margraten on 14 June 1948. His remains were prepared and placed in a casket on 18 June 1948 and he was given his final resting place on 26 January 1949.
