Cpl Frank A. Bergonzi enlisted in Buffalo, New York on 27 January 1941.In a house a stock of bangalores and dynamite is stored and prepared for use. In the afternoon of 22 January this stock explodes, destroying the house completely, wounding several men and killing Cpl Frank A. Bergonzi, Cpl John J. Cuneo, T/5 John G. Pinto, T/5 Antonio Muscente, Pfc Frank M. Reese and Pfc Rosario J. Maniscalco. All these men are buried at Margraten.
