Pfc Rosario J. Maniscalco was a sales clerck before he joined the New York National Guard on 17 February 1941.His parents immigrated from Italy.
In a house a stock of bangalores and dynamite is stored and prepared for use. In the afternoon of 22 January this stock explodes, destroying the house completely, wounding several men and killing Cpl Frank A. Bergonzi, Cpl John J. Cuneo, T/5 John G. Pinto, T/5 Antonio Muscente, Pfc Frank M. Reese and Pfc Rosario J. Maniscalco. All these men are buried at Margraten.
