Pfc Francis R. Keohan worked as a foreman before he enlisted in Boston, Massachusetts on 7 January 1944.


He was part of an outfit, making a reconnaissance of a stream near the small town of Rheurdt, Germany, early on this morning of 4 March 1945. As his unit approached the stream the enemy commenced shelling the area with mortars.

Pfc Keohan was killed instantly by shrapnel.
