Pfc Leon T. Rose attended high school for three years and was employed at the motion picture industry as a projectionist connected with the local theaters before he enlisted at Fort McPherson, Georgia on 12 March 1942.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Grand Failly, France.
