More information

Ralph Jeffries worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps.

The battalion's After Action Report states that B Company cleared several villages and towns between Rödichen and Wüllersleben between 8 and 11 April 1945. The other companies were also involved in the fighting in the area but only B Company is reported to have lost two tanks and suffered six wounded and two missing during this period. It can therefore be assumed that Pvt Jeffries was one of the men reported missing in action and belonged to this company.

Pfc Robert W. Jeffries was the brother-in-law of Pfc Charles B. Simmons who is buried at the Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial in Margraten.

His brother, Pfc Robert W. Jeffries, was killed on 23 January 1945 and buried at the Luxembourg American Cemetery.
