Pvt Walter S. Hopkins was a meat market manager at Safeway Stores.He enlisted at Fort Lewis, Washington on 6 March 1944.
Pvt Hopkins was taken prisoner on 22 December 1944 and died five days later. The exact circumstances and location are not known.
