Pfc Wilburn T. Underwood enlisted on 16 May 1942 at Fort McPherson, Georgia.

His remains were recovered on 8 July 1988 and were buried at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia on 11 August 1990.
