Pvt Tiffany H. Bailey’s parents died when he was very young and he was raised by his grandparents.

He attended high school for three years and was employed by the Walker Michigan Co. when he enlisted on 16 February 1942.

On 5 February I Company sent out a patrol, consisting of 1 officer and 20 enlisted men, to cross the Sauer River in the vicinity of Beaufort. They encountered heavy enemy machinegun and mortar fire. The mission was not accomplished due to swift current and swollen river.

He was killed by mortar shell fragments that hit his head and thorax.
