T/4 William A. Lescanec was a graduate of Steelton High School and associated with his father in the meat and grocery business before he enlisted in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania on 20 March 1942. He trained at Camp Lee, Va.; Camp Pickett, Va.; Ft. McClellan, Ala.; Camp Hood, Tex., and Camp Blanding Fla. He was reported killed Thanksgiving Day.He was first buried at Temporary American Military Cemetery Limey, France.
