Steve Jagol's parents were immigrants from Kiev, Ukraine.

He was reported wounded in action on 27 October 1944 in the vicinty of Meijel, The Netherlands and evacuated to the 53rd Field Hospital that was operating in Heeze, The Netherlands at that time.

His brother T/5 John J. Jagol is buried next to him.

Both brothers are remembered at the Our Saviors Cemetery in Polk County, Minnesota.

His brother Donald served with the U.S. Marines in the Pacific.
