Cpl John Snyder graduated from Albany High School and Wesleyan University in 1933 and attended Yale School of Law from 1933 to 1937. He was admitted to the bar in 1938 and was employed in the law department of New York Power & Light Corporation.He enlisted on 1 March 1944 and was sent overseas in July 1944. He was promoted to corporal in October 1944.
Cpl Snyder was instantly killed by enemy small-arms fire while on a volunteer scouting patrol.
