Sgt. Geoffrey S. Wrigley graduated from Fort Edward High School in 1939.He enlisted on 4 November 1942 in Albany, New York. He was selected for the Army Specialized Training Program (ASTP) and studied at Carnegie Institute of Technology. He was sent overseas in July 1944.
He was taken prisoner and was imprisoned at Stalag VIII-A in Görlitz, Germany. The prisoners were forced to march to the west after the camp was evacuated. He died in a hospital in Bad Sulza.
Sgt. Wrigley is remembered at Union Cemetery in Fort Edward, Washington County, New York.
