More information

T/Sgt Thomas W. Saucier attended 1 year of college and was an architect before he volunteered for the Air Corps of the U.S. Army on 23 April 1942.

Sgt Howard B. Campbell:
"I was flying tail gunner on A/C 42-3343 flying right wing in the lead element and A/C 42-3380 was flying left wing in the second element. The first wave of fighters attacked A/C 42-3380 and the plane started pouring out white smoke from the #3 engine. He fell back quite away and the fighters attacked him again and he then started going down with the engine still pouring out the white smoke. I didn't see any chutes come out of the plane."

Sgt Roush:
"I believe he was killed by fighter attack in the plane. We believe he went back to the tail to try to help S/Sgt Golebiewski and was killed. He could have saved himself."
