Capt Jacob A. George Jr. enlisted in Baltimore, Maryland on 31 May 1941.He was married to Torrey Copenhaver on 19 February 1944.
He was killed by small arms fire while throwing a hand-grenade from the turret of his tank.
He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross posthumously for his actions on the day of his death.
