Pvt Ernest De Rensis graduated from Lyndhurst High School and was an optician.He enlisted at Fort Dix, New Jersey on 3 March 1942. He was sent overseas in December 1943 and was wounded in action in Brest in August 1944, for which he was hospitalized for four months.
He was taken prisoner and died in Germans captivity. The exact circumstances are not known.
