2nd Lt Howard L. Smith graduated from Bound Brook High School in 1938.He enlisted in May 1941 and was sent overseas in December 1943.
His tank was knocked out by a tank of the 113th Panzer Brigade, probably a Panzer IV.
2nd Lt Howard L. Smith was initially buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of St. Avold, France.
