2nd Lt Thomas P. Barron graduated from Maur Hill High School and attended William Jewell College. He was employed by Peck's Department Store.

On his 11th mission, while returning from Brunswick, Germany, the plane was seen to be hit by enemy aircraft fire, and the #2 engine caught on fire at 1543 hours over the Zuider Zee. Five parachutes were seen to leave the airplane before the aircraft was lost from view as it ditched into the North Sea, three kilometers off the coast of the Netherlands.
