1st Lt Richard M. Hoff North graduated from High School and was a linotype machinist at the Daily Times before he volunteered for the U.S. Army in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on 6 April 1942.The flight was bounced by about seven FW-190s near Evreux or Elbeuf, France. He was last seen in a shallow dive, being chased by two German fighters. He crashed at 0735 hrs near Vicq, about 11 miles west of Versailles.
