More information
S/Sgt Russell D. Jones enlisted in Baltimore, Maryland on 8 March 1943.1st Lt C. M. Cronin:
Definite details concerning A/C 747 are not known although one B-17 was seen going down at Nucourt, apparently, directly hit by flak, This A.C appeared tob e from the high squadron, since plane 747 flew #3 position in the high squadron and A/C 903 and A/C 934 were indentified, it is presumed that A/C 747 was the plane reported as going down over Nucourt.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Solers, France.
