M/Sgt Alvin R. Alexander graduated from Hammond High School and was employed at Rogers Cartage Company as a driver before he enlisted in Chicago, Illinois on 18 August 1942. He was sent to England in December 1943.

He died of a heart attack while playong baseball. At that time he was awaiting his discharge papers.
