Pfc Francis L. Swanson worked in a metal factory before he enlisted in Hartford, Connecticut on 19 March 1943.The day after he was killed, Swanson's body was buried in a temporary grave at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Son, The Netherlands.
On 13 December 1948 he was given his final resting place at Margraten.
