Sgt John R. Nofsinger Jr. enlisted in Greensburg, Pennsylvania on 5 December 1942.He was shot in the neck. He asked if someone would tell his wife Betty.
He was killed exactly one year after his wedding day on 2 December 1943. Three days later, on 5 December 1944, his son was born.
