Pfc William C. Stone enlisted in Binghamton, New York on 6 November 1942. He was first serving with a cavalry unit at Fort Riley, Kansas, but had been tranferred to the infantry.
Pfc Stone had been overseas since October. He trained in Texas and Kentucky camps before being transferred to the European theatre four months ago. Before he entered service, he was employed by Remington Rand.
