More information
2nd Lt Clyde M. Street was a shipping clerk. He enlisted at The Presidio of Monterey, California on 18 March 1942.
Statement from 1st Lt. Fred C. McClanahan, who was flying in the same group: "I was flying Red 3, but had to abort at the Dutch Coast because of engine trouble. Lt Street was relay, and as I turned around I heard on the R/T : 'I am leaving it', I presume that this was Lt Street and that he was preparing to bail out. I later heard that another group had reported that a unidentified P-38 had crashed into the North Sea."
