More information

Theodore F. Lasch was born as Theaddus Leazcz, but the family Americanized "Leazcz" to "Lash", and finally to "Lasch".

He joined the Air Corps of the U.S. Army Reserve at Selfridge Field, Michigan on 17 February 1943, and received his wings at Napier Field, Alabama in April 1944.

Statement of Maj William S. Crombie, who flew in the same mission: "I was leading White Flight, Officer Lasch as number four man. We went across Stendal A/F as a unit on the first pass, and finding practically no flak, we broke up to strafe individually. F/O Lasch was last seen by me destroying a JU88 on about his fourth trip across the field. He did not seem to be in trouble at the time.
Nothing further is known. When we re-formed to come home, F/O Lasch could not be seen or contacted by radio."

On one picture he poses with his sister Louise in 1944.
