1st Lt William E. Sharp Jr. graduated from Manual Arts High School with the class class of 1940 in Los Angeles, California.

He volunteered for the Army of the United States in Los Angeles, California on 8 January 1942.

Less than two weeks after receiving the Bronze Star Medal for gallantry in action, Lt Sharp was killed in action.

He saw action in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, The Netherlands, Belgium, France and Germany.
