Pvt James Milliner enlisted on 13 May 1942 at Louisville, Kentucky.On 17 December 1944, at the beginning of the Battle of the Bulge, the 612th TDB was defending Honsfeld when they were overrun by Kampfgruppe Peiper of the 1st SS Panzerdivision Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler. James Milliner tried to surrender but, together with five of his comrades, he was shot in cold blood.
