S/Sgt Britton J. Milne grew up in the Odd Fellows Home orphanage in Liberty, Missouri until he was about 16 when he moved in with relatives. His father had died in 1921 and his mother in 1923. Had a cat that he named FDR. He also loved snakes and was terrified of spiders.He joined the Regular Army on 24 April 1939 and was stationed at Fort William Davis Military Reservation in Cristobal, Panama Canal in 1940.
