More information
Wayne Clemons worked on a farm.He enlisted in Dallas, Texas on 7 January 1944.
The tank, of which Pvt Clemons was a crew member, was hit by enemy gunfire. It burned and ammunition within blew up. The inside of the tank was completely burned and everything was blown apart. No remains of Pvt Clemons could be found and it is therefore assumed they were completely destroyed by the fire.
Besides Pvt Clemons, two other crew members were also killed but their remains could be recovered. Two other crew members escaped.
He is remembered at the Osage Cemetery of Osage, Coryell County, Texas.
