1st Lt Bartholomew D. O'Toole graduated from Loyola Academy in 1935 and from the University of Notre Dame in 1937. He was employed at Brown, Bennett & Johnson, Inc.

He joined the National Guard in February 1941 and was sent overseas in July 1944.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Limey, France.

Lt O'Toole is remembered at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Cook County, Illinois.
