2nd Lt Joseph M. Farkas graduated from Trenton High School.

He enlisted at Fort Dix, New Jersey on 20 May 1942.

The airplane was rammed by an ME-262 jet fighter, and the bomber was cut in half, with the tail section separating relatively intact, allowing the rear gunner, Sgt. Craig M. Bennett, to parachute to the ground where he was taken as a POW and survived the war.
