T/5 Mc Cormick was employed as a brakeman on the Lehigh Valley R.R. prior to his induction on February 2, 1942. He received his basic training at Camp Polk, La. He married the former Helen Seltzer of East Weissport in 1942 while stationed at Fort Benning in Georgia.
