Pvt Gerald T. Stoyle Jr. graduated from St. Mary's Academy with the class of 1939 and was employed at the West Drug store and later at the American Locomotive Company.He enlisted at Fort Niagara, Youngstown, New York on 7 March 1942.
He was performing guard duty at the regimental command post at Peddenberg, Germany when he was hit and killed instantly by a fragment of a shell.
